AI Limitations

How to use our AI assistant wisely

The refeeding. platform uses an AI assistant to help answer questions about nutrition, metabolic health, and the refeeding framework. This page explains what the AI can and cannot do, so you can use it confidently and safely.

The AI assistant is a tool for exploration and education. It is not a clinician, and nothing it says is a substitute for personalized professional guidance.

What the AI Is

Our assistant is guided by the refeeding framework: a set of principles around metabolic repair, nutrient density, and sustainable eating. It can explain concepts, help you think through food choices, and point you toward relevant resources. It draws on a substantial body of nutrition science, but it synthesizes that information in general terms.

What the AI Is Not

The AI is not a licensed dietitian, physician, or any other kind of healthcare provider. It has not reviewed your medical history, blood work, medications, or individual circumstances. It cannot diagnose conditions, interpret lab values, or prescribe courses of action for specific health problems.

It Can Make Errors

AI systems can produce confident-sounding information that is incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Nutrition science itself is an evolving field with ongoing debate. Treat AI responses as a starting point for your own research, not a final word.

Before You Make Changes

If you are managing a diagnosed health condition, taking medications, pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any reason to believe your situation is complex, please consult a registered dietitian or your physician before making significant dietary changes based on anything you read or hear here — from the AI or otherwise.
